The (Seagull) Pool at the SÖZBİR ROYAL RESIDENCE HOTEL
During the time we stayed at the hotel where everyone from the meeting stayed in Üsküdar I never once saw any human swim in the pool. Although I saw an old lady tanning on a deck chair in her swimsuit for several hours. But, there were some creatures that highly enjoyed the pool. Seagulls! Each time they would fly down, stop by the edge of the pool, marveling at the discovery of water so unusually clear and pristine, a secret they had a conflicting impulse to share or to keep just for themselves, they dipped their faces in the cool water and splashed it over their feathers...eventually some got braver and went for an actual dip creating circles with their buoyant bodies that grew larger and met to form a chain on the surface of the water. They never lost the look of surprise at what they had found as they looked from side to side at the water around them with what I believe was a smile. If I have ever seen sheer delight on the face of a seagull, I now know what that looks like.
